Gilda and Audrey

In this story, Audrey talks to her mother, Gilda, about Gilda’s harrowing escape from Iran as a teenager after the Islamic Revolution began exactly 40 years ago, and how she feels about living in a country where Audrey says refugees aren’t always welcomed or helped.

Last names were not given to protect their family’s privacy.
